What Surfaces Can You Use the Bissell Little Green On?
Check the care instructions before treating the stain. Vehicle upholstery and child safety seats need different guidance.

The Little Green is made for spot-cleaning compatible carpet, rugs, upholstery and vehicle interiors. That does not mean every fabric or seat can be wet-cleaned. Check the item's care instructions and your exact machine's manual before filling the tank.
If you mean a baby's or child's car seat, go straight to the seat manufacturer's instructions. A cleaner advertised for auto interiors is not blanket permission to use it on a child restraint.
Check these two things before cleaning
- The item: find its care label or the manufacturer's cleaning instructions. If they are missing or unclear, ask the manufacturer or furniture dealer.
- The machine: find the model number and read its manual. Little Green is a family of machines; advice for one version may not apply to yours.
The 1400 user guide currently linked by BISSELL says to check the upholstery tag, test a hidden area and examine it when dry. It also says not to use the machine on silk or velvet. A W or WS label alone does not override that restriction.
Which surface are you cleaning?

A child's car seat needs its own instructions
Use the seat model's manual for each part. Graco's cleaning guide, for example, calls for surface-cleaning harness straps without soaking them, and gives separate instructions for the cover and buckle. Those instructions should not be replaced with a carpet-cleaner routine. If a harness has already been soaked, contact the seat manufacturer before using it again.
A hidden-spot test comes before the visible stain
If both sets of instructions allow cleaning, follow the machine manual's test procedure. Let the test area dry before judging the result. If its color changes, stop. A hidden test is an extra check, not a way to make an excluded fabric suitable.
Use the water temperature for your model
BISSELL's Little Green getting-started guide specifies warm tap water, no hotter than 140°F (60°C), for the models it lists. Do not use boiling water. Follow your own model's fill lines and formula instructions.
Do you need to buy a machine?
First confirm that it is suitable for the thing you want to clean. For an occasional mess, compare borrowing, renting or hiring a cleaner with the cost and storage space of owning one. A compatible machine you already have may be enough.
